A sinner is saved by believing on Christ, not by a prayer (Jn 3.36a & 6.47 and Acts 16.31). However, every believer has the priviledge of calling upon the name of the Lord to be saved (Rom 10.13-14a).
Christ commands us to preach the gospel (Mk 16.15), not present the ‘plan of salvation’, man’s ‘plan of salvation’ has taken the place of the gospel thereby silencing it.
The Apostle Paul defines the gospel he received and preached in 1 Cor 15.1-4 (Look it up.). It is easily preached by first asking another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.).
The most important thing is a new creature and we beget them by preaching the gospel to others in person with our mouth (Gal 6.15-16 and 1 Cor 4.15).

Amen!!! In the prayer you will find two words ” I believe “. May GOD Bless!!! Mark
Just so you know – It’s not the prayer that saves, it’s believing on Christ that does after we preach the gospel to them in person with our mouth (Rom 10.14, 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15 and Eph 6.19).
The gospel is easily preached by asking another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and telling them – “Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4).
Will you tell others the good news that they might be saved? Then teach them who believe to preach it? It’s what the world needs now.
Amen!!! I am in agreement!!! Mark
P.S. I like the prayer, but in order to pray such a prayer you have to first believe (Rom 10.14a) and if a person believes they are already saved (Jn 3.15-16, 3.36, 6.47, Acts 16.31, etc.). The prayer of salvation actually hinders the gospel from being preached because to lead a person to Christ in this manner is nearly impossible without a pulpit. Christ said go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15), not inside the church. Ninety nine percent of the people in the world will never enter a church. If a church is not preaching the gospel outside their doors then it is not really a church. At best it is a social club, and a social club is unworthy of the tithe (The tithe is for the furtherance of the gospel.). Thanks for sharing your prayer, I was save on Oct 1990 and a solid servant of Christ, even if all my blogs or articles do not say so. Bless you Mark!!
Please see SAVED on http://www.preach-the-gospel.org for a definition of ‘saved’.
I totaly understand the meaning of being ” Saved”. I do not need any other definition execpt that which the Holy Spirit has given me!!! Mark Byrd
